Power, Telangana, Jagan issues to rock AP House

Last Updated 10 June 2013, 19:24 IST

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly Budget session, which began on Monday,  is expected to be rocked by power crises, farmer’s issues, corruption and Telangana statehood issues.

The House passed a condolence resolution on the death of Avanigadda Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislator Ambati Brahmaniah on Monday.

The main opposition TDP insisted that it would raise the tainted ministers and power issues. It would not move a no-confidence motion against the Congress government.

The Kiran Kumar Reddy government can expect high drama outside of the Assembly with the Telangana JAC, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), CPI and the Bharatiya Janata Party  preparing to hold “Chalo Assembly”’ agitation and the 17-member YSR Congress planning protest for not granting bail to its leader Jaganmohan Reddy.

Speaker Nadendla Manohar and Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy seemed ready for this challenge, with nearly five IPS officers, four DSPs, 10 Circle inspectors, 15 sub-inspectors, 300 civil police and  35 platoons of armed police deployed around the Assembly premises.
