Out to fulfill destiny

Watch ‘The Scorpion King’ on Star Movies at 5 pm on June 12. In an ancient time, predating the pyramids, the evil king Memnon is using the psychic powers of his sorceress Cassandra to foretell his great victories.

In a last ditch effort to stop Memnon from taking over the world, the leaders of the remaining free tribes hire the assassin Mathayus to kill the sorceress. But Mathayus ends up getting much more than he bargained for.

Now, with the help of the trickster Arpid, tribal leader Balthazar and an unexpected ally, it’s up to Mathayus to fulfil his destiny and become the great Scorpion King. The flick stars Dwayne Johnson, Steven Brand, Kelly Hu, Grant Heslov and Bernard Hill.

In ‘Cop Out’, Jimmy is a veteran detective whose missing baseball card collectible is his only hope to pay for his daughter’s upcoming wedding.

Paul is his ‘partner-against-crime’. The two cops find themselves tangling with a merciless, memorabilia-obsessed gangster, rescuing a Mexican beauty with the key to millions in laundered drug money — and everything else that’s not in a day’s work for the detective duo. Watch ‘Cop Out’ on WB at 11.55 pm on June 12.

It stars Bruce Willis, Tracy Morgan, Juan Carlos Hernández, Cory Fernandez and Ana de la Reguera.

A matter of murder

A Few Good Men’ stars Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, Jack Nicholson, Kevin Pollak and Kevin Bacon.

A soldier dies and two marines have been accused of murdering him. Lt Daniel Kaffee is a Navy lawyer who has never practically worked on a case and who has a lazy attitude.
The other lawyer for the defence is commander Joanne Galloway.

As the two of them try to get to the truth, colonel Nathan Jessup and two other officers offer to help. But Kaffee feels that something is fishy and confronts the colonel.
