CBI JD Lakshmi Narayana returns to Maha cadre

Joint Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Hyderabad Zone, V V Lakshmi Narayana today handed over the charge to DIG H Venkatesh, after his repatriation to his cadre state of Maharashtra.

Lakshmi Narayana, a Maharashtra cadre IPS officer of 1990 batch was on central deputation and served seven-years in the central agency here.

Lakshmi Narayana, who was credited with the cracking of Satyam scam involving Ramalinga Raju during 2009-10, also supervised investigation into other high-profile cases including the quid-pro-quo investments case involving YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, illegal mining case involving Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), owned by former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and Emaar-APIIC land deal case.

"I am happy that I served in my native state for a period of seven years and gained good experience, which also offered an opportunity to me to gain knowledge as various cases that came up during this period," Lakshmi Narayana told reporters.

Replying to a query on the progress of probe of the high-profile cases, he said, "We have submitted charge sheets in the court on completion of investigation in some cases and if any further investigation is required the team of CBI officers led by Venkatesh will look after."
Venkatesh is also Investigation Officer of the ongoing high-profile cases.
