Revenue Divisional Commissioner in Odisha, who is also the chief administrator of the Jagannath Temple administration, has asked Collectors of ten districts coming under the division to expedite identification of the land of Lord Jagannath in their respective areas and make a database of who are in possession of these lands.

RDC Arvind Padhee said as per the unique uniform policy adopted by the State Government in 2003, the Jagannath lands in possession of genuine occupants shall be regularised in their names and all the lands in illegal possession shall be brought back to the records of Lord Jagannath Temple which will be auctioned in due course.

He said more than 26,000 acres of such illegal lands across the State have now been identified and have been brought back to the records of Lord Jagannath Temple.

Padhee was addressing the district collectors at a workshop on National e-governance Programme (NEGP) here yesterday.
