100 acres allotted for Samskrit varsity

The State government has alloted 100 acre of land to Karnataka Samskrit University for constructing its administrative building.

Registrar Prof Y S Siddegowda said the university will be starting an evening college on Chamarajpet campus shortly.

At present, around 31 colleges with 42,000 student are affiliated to the university.

Out of a total of 460 students who received their received their degrees at the second convocation of the university, there were 166 were postgraduate students and nine students who topped in their respective subjects.

Gauri Hegde from Honnavar secured first rank in Alankarashastram.
Others included Naveen Bhat S (Advaitavedantashastram), Vijayanand Adiga B (Jyotishyashastram), Mahesh G Bhat (Krishnayajurvedam) and Raghuram M V (Samaveda).
