On eve of marriage, man kills self

A 32-year-old man who was to get married soon, was found hanging at his house in Raghavendra Block, Hanumanthanagar on Saturday morning.

According to police, Bheemaraj returned home on Friday evening and went to his room on the second floor after dinner. He did not answer repeated calls of his father, Rangaswamy, a retired KSRTC employee, went up and broke open the door to find him hanging from the ceiling fan.

A death note said to have been left behind by Bheemaraj said he was responsible for his death. Working as a cab driver, he was to get married on June 27.

Pedestrian run over

An unidentified pedestrian was mowed down by a BMTC bus while he was trying to cross the road near Garebavipalya on Friday.

According to police, the pedestrian, aged about 45 years, was knocked down by the City bus proceeding towards Majestic from Electronics City.

The victim, who suffered grievous head injury was shifted to a nearby hospital from where he was rushed to Nimhans. However, he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the scene.
