From rags to riches

Slumdog Millionaire’ is about Jamal Mallik (played by Dev Patel). The eighteen-year-old is from the wrong side of the track and happens to enter the TV show ‘Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?’. He is but a step away from winning the coveted first prize of 20 million rupees — when he is arrested.

The police want to know if Jamal is cheating, since they don’t believe that a boy with his kind of a lifestyle could possibly know all the answers. Watch the film to see what Jamal has to say for himself.

A fight for life

In ‘Mortal Kombat’, Lord Rayden (played by Christopher Lambert) guides warrior Liu Kang (essayed by Robin Shou), detective Sonja Blade (portrayed by Bridgette Wilson) and film star Johnny Cage (played by Linden Ashby) to a remote island to take part in a contest.

 The ancient Shaolin Tournament — called Mortal Kombat — is to be conducted there. If the Outworld wins the tournament ten times in a row, they get the right to enter the Realm of the Earth and take over. 

The Outworld has succeeded the last nine rounds. They have warriors like Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Goro on their side. Does the Earth stand a chance? Tune in to the film on WB at 2.57 pm on June 17 to find out.
