The City-based Suchitra Film Society is playing host to a unique “Human Rights Film Festival” in solidarity with Irom Sharmila, who had launched a hunger strike against invoking Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in Manipur. The festival will be on till November 9 at Society’s premises in Banashankari II stage.
Among the films on the festival are “Soldiers in Sarong” by Lokendra Arambam, ‘Tales from the margin’ by Kavita Joshi , ‘Sharmila – the iron lady’ , ‘Redefining Peace’ a film by K P Sasi, ‘Jashn-e-azadi (How we celebrate freedom)’ by Sanjay Kak; ‘Development flows from the barrel of the gun’ by B Toppo and Meghnath; and ‘Zameer ke Bandi.’
