A fiery, unbeaten century from Yuvraj and a ten-wicket match haul for Vinay Vaishnav helped Standard Cricket Club post a resounding innings and 47-run win over Vijaya Cricket Club, Malur, in their KSCA Group I, Division II tournament for the MAT Acharya Shield.
Standard CC posted a mammoth 421 for seven declared in 66 overs with Yuvraj scoring 132 from a mere 101 balls with ten fours and five sixes.
In response, Vijaya CC found a couple of contributors in Pariksith Shetty (61) and Shashank Kashyap (48) but their innings did little to overcome Vinay’s five for 136 effort as they were bundled out for 255, 166 runs short of Standard’s first innings total. Following on, Vijaya CC once again had no answers to Vinay as he bagged his second five-wicket haul of the match to skittle out the opponents to 119, helping Standard CC to five points.
In another match, Rahul Dravid’s cameo (47) and Stuart Binny’s century helped Bangalore United Cricket Club (1) set up a mammoth total in their drawn encounter against Modern Cricket Club.
