UVCE exams rescheduled

Bangalore University has rescheduled the semester examination of the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE). According to the modified timetable, the exams scheduled to begin on June 24 will now commence on July 8.

The revised dates will not be applicable to students of eighth semester as the University took note that these students would either have to report for jobs or meet the deadline for postgraduate courses.

Students of the college had submitted a representation to the Registrar (Evaluation), R K Somashekar on Monday demanding the officials to reschedule the exams, as the timetable was announced late.

The students had alleged that the semester began nearly a month late and the lecturers were not covering most parts of the syllabus. The students had stated that owing to many problems faced by students in the college, the University had to reschedule the dates and allow students extra time for preparation.

Meeting held

Following the students’ request, Bangalore University Vice-Chancellor Prof B Thimme Gowda convened a meeting on Tuesday.

“I held a meeting with the heads of the departments and the dean. The exam will get over on July 21. The results will be late than what we had planned as the exam is being postponed. We will ensure that the final year students’ schedule is not affected. They would get their results early,” the VC said.
