World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year on June 14 in several countries to make people aware of the need for safe blood and blood products and to express gratitude towards voluntary unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.

To raise the awareness and to mark the World Blood Donor Day, Muskaan K K Memorial Trust in association with Dr Rita Bakshi organised a blood donation camp at the International Fertility Centre, in Green Park.

About 100 people gathered to donate blood and contributed in huge numbers. Sixty units of blood were collected. The event turned even more significant in the presence of Arpita Bansal, the founder of Muskaan K K Memorial Trust, social activist Alka Lamba and grooming guru, Rita Ganguly who although couldn’t donate blood as she has had a bypass surgery before.

This was one of the first activities organised by the trust. “Muskaan K K Memorial Trust is putting in efforts to make this event significant by creating awareness and about the importance of each individual blood donation. All donated blood will be well-handled and will save lives everyday!”

“Besides, we would also like to take this opportunity to urge the public in joining the campaign. Together, we share hopes and love.” said Arpita Bansal.

With a goal to serve the society, the trust will work to uphold charitable, cultural, spiritual, education and any other activities for the relief of the poor; the education of needy and to afford medical relief or promote any other object of public utility without distinction of caste, creed, religion and race. The trust is committed to contribute to the society in the best possible manner.
