After some magic beans

Puss in Boots’ airs on HBO at 7.09 pm on June 22. Years before meeting Shrek and Donkey, the adorable but tricky Puss in Boots must clear his name from all charges that are currently making him a wanted fugitive.

While trying to steal magic beans from the infamous criminals Jack and Jill, the hero crosses paths with his female match, Kitty Softpaws, who leads Puss to his old friend but now enemy Humpty Dumpty. Memories of friendship and betrayal enlarge Puss’ doubt, but he eventually agrees to help the egg get the magic beans.

Together, the three plan to steal the beans, get to the Giant’s castle, nab the golden goose and clear Puss’ name. But will everything go according to plan? Watch the film to find out.

A peek at Santa’s life

Tune in to ‘Arthur Christmas’ on Sony Pix at 3 pm on June 22. This movie reveals the incredible, never-before-seen answer to every child’s question — how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night? The answer is simple: Santa’s exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole. But at the centre of the film is a story about a family in a state of comic dysfunction and an unlikely hero, Arthur, with an urgent mission that must be completed before Christmas morning dawns. The animated film is directed by Sarah Smith and Barry Cook.

Exasperated by a delayed wedding

In ‘The Five-Year Engagement’, Tom Solomon, a
sous-chef at a fancy restaurant, and Violet Barnes, a psychology PhD graduate, are a happy couple in San Francisco who get engaged a year after they begin dating. Their nuptials get interrupted when Tom’s best friend Alex Eilhauer gets Violet’s sister Suzie pregnant at Tom and Violet’s engagement party and the two marry before Tom and Violet. Their nuptials get further delayed when Violet gets accepted into the University of Michigan’s post-doctorate in psychology programme, which lasts two years. Tom agrees to move with her and delay their wedding until then. However, when he tells his boss, he finds out he was due to get a promotion. Will he put his career over love? A charm of her own

Watch ‘A Dangerous Woman’ on MGM at 7.15 pm on June 22. In this film, Martha Horgan (played by Debra Winger) is mentally slow. She lives with her aunt Frances (essayed by Barbara Hershey) and everyone knows that she never lies. She works in a shop. She informs her employer when Getso, a co-employee, steals 20 dollars from the cash register. But the owner presumes that just because Martha is slow, she also lies and chucks her out of the job. Mackey (portrayed by Gabriel Byrne) does odd jobs for a living and helps Frances fix her porch. He falls for Martha’s naivete and the two get quite close. Watch the film to find out what happens next.
