More bodies recovered from UP rivers

Bodies suspected to be of those who were swept away by the flash floods from Uttarakhand continued to reach rivers in Uttar Pradesh.

According to reports, at least a dozen bodies were either spotted or recovered from different rivers in the state in the past two days.

A large number of cattle carcasses were also seen floating in the rivers, reports said. Eyewitness accounts in Bijnore district claimed that at least a dozen bodies, including those of women and children, had been spotted in the Ganga in the district alone on Saturday. Senior officials were taking steps to bring them ashore.

Three bodies were recovered on Saturday from the Ganga Barrage in Bulandshahar district.
