For the success of her movie

Vidya Balan, whose film Ghanchakkar has hit the silver screen, is leaving no stone unturned to ensured the movie is a success. She made sure that she visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar during her promotional tour for the film in Punjab.

Vidya was in Jalandhar and had to reach the Amritsar airport at 8 am. Despite having to catch such an early morning flight, she insisted that she would start around 5 am from Jalandhar to go to the Golden Temple. She made a successful trip to the temple and then rushed to catch the flight for New Delhi.

Two aces match steps

This one’s likely to be a visual delight — dancing ace Prabhu Deva and actor Shahid Kapoor will groove together for the first time for Rambo Rajkumar, in a song called Gandi Baat. Prabhu Deva, who is directing the movie, says he is very excited about performing alongside Shahid, who in his opinion is one of Bollywood’s most talented performers. “I’m very excited about the song and Shahid and I are already rehearsing for it. It’s a fun and peppy track,” he says in a statement. Shahid adds that he is really looking forward to this.

“I’m really looking forward to doing a full dance song with Prabhu sir. His style is very new for me, so it’s a challenge. But I am loving it,” he says. The song, composed by Pritam, will be shot in a bar setting.

Rehearsals for the number are in process. Producer Viki Rajani says, “Gandi Baat will be well remembered as we have two of the biggest and best dancers matching steps to a peppy track for the very first time.”

The song is high on tempo, keeping in mind the energy that Prabhu Deva and Shahid are capable of, Pritam adds in a statement.

He is extremely confident that they will take Gandi Baat to the next level. The movie will hit screens on November 29.

‘Ranbir works really hard’

Jaaved Jaffrey, who will share screen space with Ranbir Kapoor in Besharam, is impressed with the young actor’s dedication and choice of different roles.

“I’ve liked him (Ranbir Kapoor) as an actor since he started his career. He works really hard and tries to do new characters,” Jaaved says. Born in a family of movie stars, Ranbir made his debut in 2007 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya and then proved his mettle with a string of movies.

Within five years of being active in the industry, the 30-year-old cemented a
secure spot in Bollywood with films like ‘Wake Up Sid’, Raajneeti, ‘Rockstar’ and Barfi!, the latest being Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Jaaved finds it commendable.

“He has moved away from the typical hero characters in our films and he tries to do something really different — be it ‘Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year’ or ‘Wake Up Sid’. I like him a lot,” says the actor, who has proved his comical skills in films like Salaam Namaste, Dhamaal, Singh Is Kinng and Double Dhamaal.

Jaaved says Ranbir is a focused actor, who can mould himself to fit different roles perfectly. Abhinav Kashyap’s Besharam is a comedy, and also features Ranbir's parents — veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, along with Pallavi Sharda. The film will release on October 2.

The power of social media

Actor Hrithik Roshan has released the motion poster of his upcoming film Krrish 3 during an interactive chat with fans over social networking site Facebook. The makers of Krrish 3 are planning to kick off the promotional activities.

“Today’s technology is simply phenomenal. In an instant, we can get immediate reactions and feedback on our films. I’m a huge believer in the power of social media as it directly involves our fans and supporters and for a movie such as Krrish 3, it takes the experience to the next level,” Hrithik, 39, says in a statement.

Even his film-maker father Rakesh Roshan feels social media is a huge platform and tapping it would be beneficial. “We want to maximise the potential of social media to reach out to millions of fans world over. This is the first ever Bollywood film to launch its first look motion poster on Facebook,” he adds.
