Around 1,200 from State rescued in Uttarakhand

 As many as 1,203 tourists and pilgrims from the State in Uttarakhand have been rescued and efforts are on to bring back to safety 335 who have been stranded due to heavy rains and floods in the hill state, according to an official release from the Revenue Department.

Public can provide details of relatives, friends or neighbours stranded in Uttarakhand by calling the following 24x7 helplines opened by the disaster management wing of the Revenue Department.

080- 22253707 (to make calls from mobile phone other than BSNL); 080- 1070 (to call from BSNL mobile); 1070 from land phone lines. The details will be sent to the Uttarakhand government and also to a high-level team of officers deputed by the State government to take immediate rescue measures, the release stated.
