Rasika Kiran Kiran Subramanyan and Sandhya Kiran will present the ‘Bharatanatyam’ recital of their daughter and disciple, Rasika, for Nritya Chilume programme on November 8, 6.30 pm at the Seva Sadan Auditorium, 14th ‘A’ Cross, Malleswaram.



Ananya is presenting Kalotsava 2009, featuring young artistes, who will present compositions of composers from Karnataka. The event will be held at Ananya Sabhangana, 4th Main, Malleswaram, from November 11 to November 15 at 6.30 pm. The artistes are Ashwini Sathish, Priya Gurumurthy, Chandana Bala, Manasi Prasad and G Ravi Kiran.

‘Absolut Rocks’

Galeej Gurus will perform live at Le Rock Cafe, Rest House Road, off Brigade Road, on November 6, at 8.30 pm, as part of the Absolut Rocks series.


Hamsadhwani Creations is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with a three-day music festival on November 20, 21 and 22 at the Bangalore Gayana Samaja.

l Pallavi Prasanna Pallavi Prasanna Madyastha is holding two concerts. One at the Hanumagiri Sangeetha Mattu Samsrutika Sabha on November 7, 6 pm for which the venue is 102, 3rd Main, 7th Block, Nagarabhavi, near Bande Maaramma Bus Stand. The second one is on November 8, 6 pm for the C V Nagaraj Memorial Trust Music Concert at the Indian Institute of World Culture, Basavanagudi.

Flights of Fantasy

Ganjam presents Flights of Fantasy, a three-day Carnatic music extravaganza from November 5 to November 7 at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall. The proceedings will begin with the vocal duet of Lalgudi Krishna and Vijayalakshmi on November 5.

Harikatha exponent Vishaka Hari and vocal artistes Ranjani and Gayatri will perform on November 6 and 7 respectively. All the performances will begin at 6.30 pm. For details, call 22261233.

Hindustani Sangeeta Kalakara Mandali’s ‘36th Annual Music Festival’ is scheduled on November 21, 5.30 pm at the Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs, Bull Temple Road.

New batch

Orange Sky Productions is conducting its 11th workshop batch in acting, for both film and theatre, starting from November 8. The programme will focus on Method Acting, along with physical preparation for performing a role. The minimum age for participation is 15 years. Film screening

Goethe-Institute/Max Mueller Bhavan is hosting events to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Two film essays: Cycling the Frame and The Invisible Frame will be presented on November 6, 6.30 pm. The video installation November Days: Live TV Coverage will be held from November 9 to 19,
9 am to 6.30 pm.


At Ranga Shankara

As part of the festival of comedies at Ranga Shankara, on November 5  Olakh Na Palakh (Marathi) by Prashant Damle Fan Foundation, Mumbai will be staged.

On November 6, watch Madime (Tulu) by Kala Sangama, Mangalore and on November 7 Chekov ki Duniya (Hindustani) by The Entertainers, Delhi will be staged.


Kriyative Theatre is presenting the 163rd show of its most popular solo play in Kannada Hennallave! by television and theatre artiste Laxmi Chandrashekar.

HCG Foundation and Swasti Art Gallery has organised a photo exhibition called Within Site Within Sight by American artist David Davison at the Swasti Art Gallery, HCG Towers, 8, P Kalinga Rao Road, Sampangi Ram Nagar. The show is open till November 15.

Group work

Face to Face, a group show featuring Beena Pradhan, M G Doddamani, Shankar Kendale and Syed Ali Arif will be on display at the Kynkyny Art, 104 Embassy Square, 148 Infantry Road. The show will be on till November 7.

‘Unfaithfully Yours’

GallerySke presents Unfaithfully Yours, a group show curated by Alex Mathew, featuring work by Anindita Chakraborty, Sharmishta Kar, Siji R Krishnan and Varunika Saraf till November 21.

‘Carnival of Colours’

Carnival of Colours, an exhibition of Indian contemporary art by R D Roy, Vijay Nagvekar, Shan Re, Kanthraj, Iverkalan, Shathish and Mukesh Mandal and curated by Jasmine Khanna will be held at Raintree, 4 Sankey Road, High Grounds on November 7 and 8 between 10.30 am to 8 pm.


The Indian Institute of Cartoonists, located at Midford Gardens, is displaying the works of K N Balraj. The exhibition will be open to public till November 14.

Hampi heritage

Ganesh Dodamani’s painting. Hampi, The World Heritage, an exhibition of paintings by Ganesh Doddamani, will be held at the Chitrakala Parishat till November 8.

‘The Open Cage’

Gallerie Sara Arakkal presents The Open Cage, as homage to Francis Bacon Yusuf Arakkal, C FJohn, B Devaraj, M S Prakash Babu, curated by Giridhar Khasnis, at 156, 4th Main, BEML Layout, ITPL Road. The exhibition will be on view till November 14, from 11 pm to 6 pm.
