Four killed in road accidents

Car rams into stationary truck parked in middle of road

Four people were killed, four injured in separate road accidents that took place in west and outer Delhi in last twenty four hours.

In the first incident, a 44-year-old man was killed, his wife, two sons and driver were injured as their vehicle rammed into a stationary truck at Samaypur Badli highway on Sunday evening.

The incident took place when the deceased identified as Preet Pal was returning to his native city of Jammu from Delhi in his Bolero car along with his wife – Satnam, 40, his two sons – Tushar, 15 and Amanpreet 18, and driver Naresh 48.

Around 7: 15 pm, Preet Pal, who was driving the vehicle, unable to notice a stationary  truck in the middle of road rammed into it from behind. The truck was placed in the middle of the road as the driver of the truck was replacing the damaged tyre.

All of them were rushed to nearby Santosh Hospital at Prashant Vihar where doctors declared Preet Pal brought dead while rest of them were discharged after preliminary treatment.

Hit and run

The second one was reported from Punjabi Bagh where a 46-year-old man was killed after his scooter was hit by an unidentified vehicle on Saturday night.

The accident took place near the Madipur Metro station and the deceased was identified as Vasudev Ashwini, a resident of Paschim Vihar area. Police said Ashwini worked at a cosmetic shop run by his brother-in-law in Sadar Bazar area.

“Ashwini was returning home on his scooter after work when his scooter was hit from behind by an unknown vehicle. Due to the impact, he fell off the scooter and sustained serious injuries,” said a police officer.

He was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital where doctors pronounced him brought dead.

“A case of hit-and-run has been registered at the Punjabi Bagh police station against unknown driver,” the officer said.

Biker dies

A biker was killed in an accident at Punjabi Bagh after being hit by an unknown vehicle in the early hours of Sunday.

The victim was spotted lying in a pool of blood by a police patrolling team, which rushed him to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

In another incident, a 40-year-old man was killed after his tractor turned turtle in outer Delhi’s Kanjhawala on Saturday night.

The victim was identified as Shubham and he lived in Nangloi area with his family. He was driving alone when he lost control of the vehicle. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
