A farewell to their friends

The final-year students of Oxford College of Management bid adieu to their friends and teachers at their farewell function, which was organised by the juniors.

While on one hand, the students were happy to have successfully completed their term in college, they were also unhappy to leave the campus where they have spent some memorable days.

After a formal function where the students and teachers shared their thoughts about the time spent in college, the function progressed to the part where they enjoyed a couple of cultural performances organised by the juniors.

Naykas, a final-year student, says that his stint in the college was good and he has made a couple of very good friends here.

“I will take back a lot from this college. There was a lot to learn and explore. We had cultural as well as academic activities throughout the year and that was a good boost for us. It was also a refreshing change from the books and the examinations. These two years were full of fun and now, I feel that they have passed by too fast,” he says.

The cultural programme presented by the junior batch saw students shaking a leg to some popular numbers. Some students even talked about their seniors and the time spent with them.

The outgoing batch could be seen interacting with their teachers and asking them for guidance for their career.

Titus, a student, states that he made the most of the time that he spent in the college and his teachers helped him to a great extent in doing so.

“The curriculum was very helpful and I have learnt a lot from my teachers. I learnt various skills related to public speaking, management and leadership. I have transformed from a shy individual to an outgoing one. Now that we are ready to part with our friends, I feel nostalgic and will miss them terribly. I never felt out of place in the college and the teachers have guided me at every step,” he says.

The farewell brought the students closer to each other and many of them spent the occasion reminiscing the old days.

Some of the students also shared their experiences and narrated small incidents and anecdotes which moved their peers to tears.

The graduating batch was awarded with a certificate and had a formal picture session with their teachers.
