British Council in pact with SSA

The British Council and the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Karnataka have signed an agreement to improve English language teaching methodologies for government elementary school teachers in Karnataka.

This happens to be the fourth year of the British Council’s involvement in the area of education development in the State since 2010.

Unicef support

The project, under the aegis of Unicef, is scheduled to begin in the month of July. The project titled ‘English Language Teacher Education and Development programme in Karnataka’ will be implemented over the course of two years.

The British Council will provide one-on-one training to 1,250 master trainers (master resource persons).The master trainers, in turn,  will provide in-service training and professional support to 2,17,852 elementary school teachers across the State.
