JOIN USWater will be released into Virija, Rajaparameshwari, Ramaswamy, Chikkadevaraya and others canals at the Krishnarajasagar Dam from Friday midnight, said District in charge Minister Ambareesh.
He was speaking to mediapersons after attending the Cauvery Irrigation Advisory Committee meeting at KRS on Friday. However, water will be released into the Visvesvaraya and Varuna Canal only from midnight of July 9, he added.
Due to the on-going repair work in the Visvesvaraya Canal, the officials had sought four days time, the actor-turned-politician said. The gods have been merciful as the State has received good rainfall and there is also significant inflow into the KRS dam.
The officials must maintain the quality of the repair work undertaken in canals, he said and added that as the water would be released on the on-and-off method, repair work would not be affected.
