<p>Delhi has 2,878 working factory units in the organised sector, which is only 1.67 per cent of the all-India level. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The average per employee emolument is Rs 1.60 lakh, which is 11.44 per cent higher than all-India figures of Rs 1. 44 lakh for 2010-11, said a survey of industries by the directorate of economic and statistics and the Delhi government.<br /><br />Chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday released the survey ‘Report on annual survey of industries for the year 2010-2011 of Delhi’.<br /><br />The estimates are based on unit-level data provided by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) and the union government, based on methodology formulated by the CSO. The report helps evaluate Delhi’s industrial sector objectively.<br /><br />The average per employee emolument in the city in 2009-10 was Rs 1,31,268. There has been an increase of 22.58 per cent in average per employee emolument in 2010-11 compared to 2009-10. <br /><br />Emoluments paid to employees in 2010-11 were Rs 1,971.63 crore, compared to Rs 1,590.46 crore in 2009-10.<br /><br />Out of 2,878 factories in 2010, at least 798 were set up 2001 onwards.<br /><br />In 145 factories, the average employment size is 500 or more; in 913 factories it is 100 to 300 employees, and in 162 factories the figures vary between 300 and 500.<br />The output per worker with Rs 61,61,117 has been observed as 30.44 per cent higher than that of all-India figures of Rs 47,22,512. The total output in 2010-11 was Rs 48,687 crore against Rs 42,359 crore in 2009-10, the report said.<br /><br />The Gross Value Added (GVA) per worker for industries manufacturing food products is estimated at Rs 24,67,755, which is 464 per cent higher compared to all-India figure of Rs 4,62,954. <br /><br />Similarly, GVA per worker for industries involved in manufacturing apparel has been estimated at Rs 4,10,429, which is 97 per cent higher than the all-India figure of Rs 2,07,296.<br /><br />The Gross Value Addition in Delhi in 2009-10 was Rs 4,170.76 crore, which went up to Rs 6,327.82 crore in 2010-11 — an increase of 51.72 per cent.<br /><br />The total output of factories in Delhi was Rs 32,626 crore in 2009-10, which went up to Rs 48,687 crore in 2010-11 — a hike of 49 per cent. The working capital of all factories in Delhi was Rs 6,040 crore in 2009-10, which rose to Rs 8,216 crore in 2010-11.<br /></p>
