People's problems: Nov 6

The residents living in and around 80-ft Road in Indiranagar, III Stage face problems due to encroachments and unauthorised constructions. The entire stretch on either side, beginning at the BESCOM transformer on the right side of ISRO Rasthe (Road) in the BBMP Ward No 74 till the Maruthi Business Centre seem to be worsening by the day. The entire stretch of the road is blocked causing untold miseries to the pedestrians and obstructing vehicular traffic. The encroachments have resulted in reducing the width of the road to less than 25-ft. I hope the authorities concerned look into the problem immediately.

While the BBMP has been continuing its demolition drive elsewhere in the City, it is intriguing that the authorities seem to be closing their eyes to the encroachments on an important road like the 80-ft Road.

Manhole chambers

The 5th ‘A’ cross and 5th ‘B’ crossroads in M R Garden, Viswanathanasenahalli urgently require repairs in manhole chambers. The existing manhole covers have been hampered due to the movement of heavy vehicles. Though the authorities concerned promised action, nothing has been done even after six months. This has caused a lot of inconvenience to the movement of people and vehicles, resulting in an accidents and traffic jams. Have the authorities decided to ignore the problem? Can it be ensured that no accidents recur?
