Two colleagues killed in serial accident

The manager and an assistant manager of a private logistics company were killed in an accident involving their motorcycle and two buses in Banaswadi traffic police limits on Thursday evening.

 The victims were identified as Rajneesh Kumar Shukla, 35 and Brijesh Yadav, 30. They were both residents of Yelahanka and hailed from Uttar Pradesh.

According to the police, the accident took place at Babausapalya in Banaswadi at around 6.30 pm when the two were returning home on a motorcycle after visiting an office in K R Puram. When they were moving closely behind a BMTC bus, the driver slowed down while negotiating a road hump. When Yadav too slowed his bike, a private bus rear-ended his two-wheeler after its driver lost control. In the process, when Yadav rammed the BMTC bus that was ahead of him, the two colleagues were tossed up from their bike. While Shukla was killed on the spot, a seriously injured Yadav was declared brought dead at a nearby hospital. The bodies were shifted to Bowring Hospital for post mortem, the police said. The rear portion of the BMTC bus was damaged.

There were no passengers in the private bus belonging to National Travels, which was attached to Euro School in Whitefield. The police have arrested the private bus driver Abdul Razaq who was on his way home when the accident occurred.

Man arrested

Adeppa, who had allegedly pushed a 20-year-old blind woman, whith whom he had an affair, into an unused well after learning that she was pregnant, has been arrested in Bagepalli of Chikkaballapur district.

He was trying to flee to Andhra Pradesh when police traced him near Narepalli.
