Wedding bells for Dia

Actress-producer Dia Mirza, who has been dating her business partner Sahil Sangha for
a while, says that she is planning to tie the knot with him next year.

The 31-year-old former Miss India co-owns a production house called Born Free Entertainment along with Sahil and actor Zayed Khan. Their first film, Love Breakups Zindagi, made under the banner and directed by Sahil, was released in 2011. Dia admits that she is now ready to take the plunge with her longtime boyfriend.

“I will get married next year. Sahil is a good human being,” says Dia, who attended an oversees award function with Sahil recently. The actress sizzled on stage as she danced to hit Bollywood wedding songs like Mehendi Laga Ke Rakhna from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Tenu Le Ke Main Javanga from Salam E Ishq and kept the crowd entertained throughout her performance.

‘I would love to do a period film’

Apparently, watching Lootera has left an
impact on young actress Alia Bhatt, who now wants to do a period film.
She is not lured to the prospect simply because of the movie’s story, but also thanks to the kind of style
and look that it promises.
“I would, at least once in my career, love to do a period film. I think a period film is not only very emotional and very
dramatic, the kind of fashion you get to (wear) is outstanding,” the 20-year-old admits.
In ‘Student of the Year’,
her last film, Alia sported an extremely contemporary
and cutting-edge wardrobe,
replete with shift dresses, stilettos and designer
clutches.
However, the attractive
simplicity of the saris that Sonakshi sported in Lootera seems to have appealed to her. “It’s ostentatious, beautiful,
vibrant and everything is
detailed. So I would love to do a period film, not only for the role, but also for fashion,” she adds. She has nothing but praises for the movie, which also stars Ranveer Singh and is set in Kolkata in the 1950s. “Of course, I love Lootera.
If you see, Lootera is very beautiful. Every scene is
delicate and yet stands out in your face,” Alia says.
Talking about the kind of films she  wants to do in her career, Alia says, “I have an idea of the different kind of films I want to do. I just want to do lots of films and everything should be
different —
something that challenges me and caters to
the need of the audience as well.”
Alia has
finished shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Highway’ with Randeep
Hooda. She is
currently shooting for
‘2 States’ with Arjun Kapoor, which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s best-selling novel
of the same name.

A sure-shot hit in the pipeline

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who is currently in jail in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, has reportedly signed choreographer-director Prabhu Deva to helm a film from his production house.

Sanjay is serving his sentence in Yerawada jail, but he’s ensuring that his
professional commitments aren’t stalled in any way.In fact, his wife Manyata
is currently handling her husband’s production house.

“Prabhu Deva has been signed to make a film for Sanjay Dutt’s company. Manyata met Prabhu and things got finalised last week,” a source close to the development say.
Prabhu has previously directed mass entertainers like ‘Wanted’ and Rowdy Rathore, with top-notch stars such as Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.

He’s proved that he has a Midas touch of sorts when it comes to the box office, since his films have gone down very well with the audience.

“We are yet to decide on the subject and actors for this film,” the source adds.
Another film, titled Hasmukh Pighal Gaya that is directed by Sejal Shah, is also being made under Sanjay Dutt’s production house.

Perfection in every shot

Prakash Jha is known to be a perfectionist when he is calling the shots as a director.
Recently, during the shoot of his forthcoming movie Satyagraha, the acclaimed director used a water cannon on his own cast members including the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Rampal.

It was an agitation scene, in which the cast was depicted as taking on the authorities. Water cannons are commonly used in real-life protests that show signs of spiralling out of control. Prakash Jha wanted to replicate the scene and make it look convincing.

He himself wielded the water cannon on his own cast, who were sporting
and dedicated enough to withstand the huge water pressure coming out of their director’s cannon.

This scene is one of the most realistic scenes in the movie, bringing to mind an actual protest rally.
