Reading the mind

Watch ‘What Women Want’ on HBO at 6.24 pm on July 22. The movie revolves around Nick, an advertising professional who is more than a little chauvinistic. His life turns upside down when through a fluke accident, he finds that he’s plugged into the minds of women — he can hear them think! Initially freaked out by this power, he tries to figure out how he can get ride of it. But then, a psychologist shows him that it might be something of a blessing after all. His first target is Darcy McGuire — someone who got a promotion he was aiming for. Catch the film to find out what happens next. It stars Mel Gibson, Helen Hunt, Marisa Tomei, Alan Alda and Ashley Johnson.

Death on a desolate island

Catch ‘The Condemned’ on Sony Pix at 9 pm on July 22. This film is about Jack Conrad, a death-row prisoner in a corrupt Central American prison who is purchased by a wealthy television producer to take part in an illegal reality game show.

Brought to a desolate island, Conrad finds himself trapped in a fight to the death against nine other condemned killers from around the world. With no possible escape and millions of viewers watching the uncensored violence online, Conrad must use all his strength to remain the last man standing and earn his only chance at freedom.

The film stars Steve Austin, Vinnie Jones, Robert Mammone, Tory Mussett and Trent Sullivan.

A twisted tale indeed

Tune in to ‘Race 2’ on UTV Movies at 8.30 pm on July 22. The film is a sequel to the 2008 film ‘Race’ and is an amazing action-thriller. The plot of the film revolves around Ranvir , who treads through the world of the Indian mafia in Turkey as he looks to avenge the death of his lover and partner-in-crime. It is only when he meets Alina that he realises there’s more to life than revenge. The movie stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel.


For a better life

Mumbai Express’ stars Kamal Hassan, Manisha Koirala, Pasupathy, Nasser and Om Puri. 
Digamber is quite fed up with his poor lifestyle, living in the slums of
Dharavi.

He makes a plot, along with two other friends of his, to kidnap the only son of a wealthy
businessman.

Things don’t happen as planned as one of the partners-in-crime is hospitalised. Since one more able male is required to carry out the plan, they decide to hire the deaf Avinash, who happens to be a daredevil motorcyclist. But things go downhill when they kidnap the wrong boy. Catch the flick on Filmy at 6 pm on July 22.
