The City police have traced a minor girl, reportedly abducted from her house in Mahadevapura recently, to Bagepalli town in Chikkaballapur district.

Anisha (name changed), 15, is a first pre-university student at a private college. According to the missing complaint filed by the victim's father at Mahadevapura police station, Anisha went missing from her home on July 14.

The police have identified the abductor as Ravi Kumar, 35, who hails from Andhra Pradesh.

On Sunday morning, the vehicle in which Anisha was being ferried developed a snag. This forced Kumar to seek help at a  local garage.

Meanwhile, Anisha requested a few passersby to free her from the clutches of her abductor.
The passersby tried to nab Kumar. However, he succeeded in giving a slip, police said.

Identified

The Bagepalli police took custody of the girl and handed her over to the Mahadevapura police. Anisha identified her abductor from among the pictures shown to her by the police.

According to the police, over 30 cases have been registered against Kumar in the K R Pura, Kamakshipalya, Whitefield, Parappana Agrahara, City Market and Kadugodi stations for abduction of minor girls.

Recently, police rescued two other City girls from Andhra Pradesh, who also identified Kumar as the kidnapper, after they were shown the pictures. Police suspect that Kumar is mentally ill and have sought co-operation from the public to trace him.
