A head constable with the City Armed Reserve (CAR) fell to his death from the second floor of an under-construction house in Kalyan Nagar, Chandra Layout on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased Nagaraj M, 51, was inspecting construction activity at his new house at the time. Nagaraj’s son, Puneeth Kumar, told Deccan Herald  that his father used to visit the site when he was free.

“Sunday was a holiday. So we went there to inspect the construction work,” Kumar said. “He went to the second floor terrace to look for a suitable place to install an overhead tank. As he was walking near the corner, he probably lost his balance and fell.”

Kumar added that he was downstairs with several workers when the accident occurred. “We rushed my father to a nearby private hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival,” he said.

A native of Ajjanahalli village, Magadi, Nagaraj was married to Gangalakshmamma. Police sources added that Nagaraj was working with CAR (Central) and was posted as an escort to D V Sadananda Gowda, Leader of Opposition, Karnataka Legislative Council.
