JOIN USA married woman was killed and her family members seriously injured when her lover allegedly threw acid on them while they were sleeping at their residence in Porsa town in the district, police said onj Sunday.
The victim Rubi Rawat had shifted to Ambah town after her marriage with Sanju, where they were living in a rented accommodation belonging to the accused Yogendra Tomar, they said.
Later, Yogendra fell in love with the woman and cajoled her to accompany him during a visit to Morena town. However, after realising her mistake, the 26-year-old victim ran away from his captivity and for the last one-and-a-half month was living with her relative in Agra.
When Rubi returned to her parents’ home along with her cousin Janu, Yogendra reached Porsa and attacked the victims with acid, police said.
The victims were rushed to Morena district hospital, where Rubi succumbed to her burn injuries.
A case has been registered against the absconding accused, police added.
