A battle between brothers

In ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’, two mutant brothers — Logan and Victor — born 200 years ago, suffer childhood trauma and have only each other to depend on. They are fighters and killers, living from war to war through US history. In modern times, a US colonel, Stryker, recruits them and other mutants as commandos. Logan quits and becomes a logger, falling in love with a local teacher. When Logan refuses to rejoin Stryker’s crew, the colonel sends the murderous Victor to get hold of him. A no-nonsense approach

Watch Basha: The Boss on UTV Action at 6.45 pm on July 24. In this movie, a huge consignment of arms is found on property belonging to Hussein Sahib. But the police discover that it does not belong to him and they trace it to Anali Bhaskaran. While Inspector Varma is unable to bring Bhaskaran to books, it takes the no-nonsense Inspector Balram to arrest him. Balram carries out a thorough investigation and finds that Taradas is the main man behind the scenes. He decides to arrest Taradas’ girlfriend Supriya to bring the villain home from Dubai. The movie stars Mammootty, Katrina Kaif, Mukesh, Charmy, Sreenivasan and Jagadish.

Dead to the world

Ghost Taxi’ is a Korean comedy film that airs on UTV World Movies at 9.36 pm on July 24.

The film kicks off with Gilnam, a cab driver who is running late for a date with his girlfriend, Yoojung. In his hurry, he’s struck dead by a passing taxi — but he awakens to find himself still driving a cab. Soon, he realises that he’s a ghost and starts to roam the city looking for Yoojung, terrifying people in the bargain. But soon, he realises that he might have a more important duty to fulfill — to get hold of the man who killed him as well as many other motorists. The film stars Seo-jin Lee, Ho Lim, Yu-jeong Choi, Hae-gyu Jeong and Jae-yeong Jeong.

On the hunt for revenge

Tune in to ‘Steel and Lace’ on MGM at 5.15 pm on July 24. This movie is about Gaily, a classical pianist, and her brother Albert, who is) is a scientist. Gaily’s life takes a cruel turn when she is raped by a group of men — Daniel, Normal, Oscar, Toby and Craig. To her horror, Daniel is acquitted based on his friends’ false testimonies. Unable to deal with reality, she commits suicide. But this isn’t the end of the story. Watch the film to find out whether the rapists are delivered justice. The film stars Clare Wren, Bruce Davison, David Naughton, Stacy Haiduk and Michael Cerveris.
