Delegation plea to solve Inam land row

A delegation led MLA B B Ningaiah met the forest, revenue and law ministers in Bangalore on Tuesday, demanding to find a solution to Inam land problem in Kalasa.

When the delegation met Revenue Minister Srinivas Prasad, he said the government will work towards solving the problem by setting up a deadline.

The confusion over differentiating revenue and the forest land has to be cleared first. When the delegation demanded for the formation of an experts committee to study the facts of Inam land, the minister agreed. He also assured the delegation of discussing about the issue in the Assembly.

When the delegation met Law Minister T B Jayachandra, he too responded positively, MLA B B Ningaiah told Deccan Herald. The delegation demanded the minister to submit a report to the High Court about the status of Inam land dwellers and inform the court about the sanctions made by the tahsildar, assistant commissioner and the deputy commissioner. The minister promised of taking a decision after consulting the forest and the revenue minister, JD(S) leader Manjaiah said. He was a part of the delegation.

They also submitted a memorandum to Revenue Minister Srinivas Prasad demanding for the formation of Kalasa taluk.

Later, the delegation also met opposition party leader H D Kumaraswamy, H D Revanna and former prime minister Deve Gowda.
