The Lokayukta police on Thursday, trapped a registrar of Minor Irrigation Department, while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 at his office in Jayanagar.
The arrested, Narasaiah, had allegedly demanded the sum from the complainant, S K Munegowda, of Nandagudi Hoblí, Hosakote for seeking a Class H Contractor licence in the Minor Irrigation Department.
Munegowda lodged a complaint at Lokayukta police, who laid a trap and caught Narasaiah red handed. A case has been registered against Narasaiah under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
