Man suspects wife's fidelity, kills her

A 27-year-old homemaker was allegedly murdered by her husband in Sanjaynagar police limits on Wednesday night. The victim is Rani, who hailed from Tamil Nadu and was married to Senthil. The police arrested Senthil on the charge of murdering his wife. The couple tied the knot eight years ago and had a seven-year-old daughter.

The incident occurred after Senthil returned home in an inebriated state in the evening. He suspected the fidelity of his wife and picked a quarrel. He smashed a hollow brick against her head. She fell down and died due to massive injuries. A few local residents who noticed it alerted the police.Rani was pursuing a teacher’s training course at Tirupattur. Senthil had recently gone to Tirupattur to see his wife. He noticed his wife talking to someone on the phone and suspected that she was having an affair with that person. He brought her back to the City a week ago.

Ambulance staff stir

Four employees of the 108 Arogya Kavacha ambulance services were admitted to KC General Hospital on Wednesday night.

The employees had been fasting since Tuesday and were brought to the hospital after they complained of fatigue and uneasiness. Nearly 2,400 workers of the ambulance services are on an indefinite strike protesting the low wages and bad management. As many as 517 ambulances are now off the road and to avoid inconvenience, drivers of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation and Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation are operating ambulances in the State.
