Addressing a news conference on Monday, he said that the present bus stand is situated in the heart of the city and since the land area is not adequate to accomodate the number of buses coming there it was causing inconvenience. Hence shifting the bus stand to larger area was needed.
With regard to IG Road widening, he said that PWD has been asked to release a sum of Rs 8.5 crore for road widening. Further, State Government has assured the Town Municipal Council to release an additional funds of Rs 15 crore.
He said that Government had acquired some land from the local people for laying of railway line and handed it over to Railway Department.
The land will be handed over to the Department after Department pays pending amount of Rs 3 crore to the Government. DC said that widening of road will be taken up utilising the funds which ever is released first of the two.
