Infra in anganawadis by June 2014: Govt

All anganawadis in the State will have the requisite infrastructure, including designated buildings, separate toilets, kitchens and drinking water facilities, by June 2014, the State government told the High Court on Monday.

Appearing for the government, Advocate General Ravivarma Kumar said that drinking water facility had been provided at all anganawadis from August 15.

Separate toilets and kitchens would also be built. Each anganawadi would have a designated building by the next academic year, Kumar explained to a Division Bench headed by Chief Justice D H Waghela and Justice B V Nagarathna.

The AG also said that the government would implement the recommendation of the Justice N K Patil committee on the requirements of anganawadis.
