Renovated Shiroor Mutt opens

Speaking on the occasion, Pejawar seer opined that the Mutts should patronise and encourage the expansion of art and cultural activities.

It should accommodate both religious and art programmes thereby reaching out to the layman. The mutts should be centre for societal activities, he added.

The renovated construction comprises of ‘Sri Laxmisamudra Sabhagraha,’ ‘Kusuma Vitalacharya Kala Mandir,’ ‘Museum and Art gallery,’ ‘Sri Vittala Guest House’ and ‘Music and Sound Recording room’. The entire structure was built at a cost of Rs 4 crore.

Shiroor mutt pontiff Sri Laxmivaratheertha Sripada, Sode Vadiraj mutt seer Sri Vishwavallabhatheertha Sripada, Kaniyur mutt seer Sri Vidyavallabhatheertha Sripada, Krishnapur mutt seer Vidyasagaratheertha Sripada, Pejawar mutt junior pontiff Vishwaprasannatheertha Sripada, Udupi MLA Raghupathy Bhat, Industrialists Manohar Shetty, Pramodh Madhvaraj and others were present.
