Members of the Congress and Telugu Desam Party on Monday allegedly exchanged abuses, even as nine of them were again suspended from the Lok Sabha for disrupting the proceedings of the House to protest the move to carve out Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.

Two TDP members of the Rajya Sabha were also suspended for the day for disrupting the House as they continued to protest against bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

On Monday, the Lok Sabha witnessed frequent protests on Telangana issue and was adjourned twice amid ruckus –first at 2.00 pm and then for the day. Nine of the 11 MPs suspended by Speaker Meira Kumar on Aug 23 were barred from the House on Monday, some of them refused to leave the Lok Sabha chamber hours after the House was adjourned for the day.

As soon as the Lok Sabha met for the day, the TDP members came to the well of the House and started raising slogans against division of Andhra. Some Congress MPs also came to the aisle of the treasury benches holding placards against Telangana.
Some TDP MPs wore masks resembling former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, which was objected strongly by the Congress.
