Complaint against KSE withdrawn

The complainant in the disproportionate case against former deputy chief minister K S Eshwarappa has sought to withdraw the complaint with the liberty to file a fresh one.

Vinod Kumar had filed a private complaint against Eshwarappa alleging that the latter had amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The Lokayukta Court in Shimoga had ordered an inquiry and Eshwarappa had challenged the order in the High Court.

He had contended that prior sanction had not been obtained from competent authority to prosecute a public servant. During the hearing on Wednesday, Kumar sought to withdraw the complaint with the liberty to file a fresh one. Accordingly, Justice K N Khachaturian disposed off the petition filed by Eshwarappa.
