Kurradu

Trust film-makers to change. No way. So, this week too, a remake tries to worm its way into the hearts of audiences. Lacking sense or substance, let alone style and entertainment, is the Telugu flick ‘Kurradu’, a Xerox of ‘Polladavan’, which in turn drew it’s inspiration from Telugu film ‘Ride’.  A middle class, prodigal lad’s only wish in life is to own a sports bike.  The moment he comes to possess the bike, love blossoms, job lands his way and he too changes for the better.

However, both his and audience’s happiness are shortlived. For, the bike is stolen, he faces the drug mafia, and of course, it’s goondas versus our lover boy.  From then on it’s one royal ride of mindless mayhem. Slow and sluggish, ‘Kurradu’, is trash that should only appeal to Varun’s fans. While Dhanush hit bull’s eye with ‘Polladhavan’, Varun has no such luck, with ‘Kurradu’ coming too late. Teeming with action, sprinkled with songs and spiced with humour, Sandeep’s ‘Kurradu’ despite his best intentions fails to hold attention. Sad!
