Hosur seeks voluntary retirement

Last Updated 21 September 2013, 19:52 IST

IGP (Home Guards) Gopal B Hosur has written to the State government seeking voluntary retirement. The government will have three months’ time to either accept or reject the application moved by the officer.

Hosur had been the State intelligence chief under the previous BJP government. He was, however, transferred to a relatively low-key post as IGP (Home Guards) when the government changed in the State.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Hosur denied that he was unhappy with the post and termed the decision to take voluntary retirement purely personal one.

He said he had only nine months of service left. He also added that he had served the department for 39 years and had seen many postings and it was part of the work.
