Why not, with focus primarily on GenX and creating enough IT talent pool for burgeoning IT Inc, the key mantra, it was in fitness of things, that these firms ruled the roost at exhibition stalls. And, much to their delight, their gamble paid off. Furthermore, with taking IT to Tier I and Tier II the new theme song among state governments keeping with Nasscom’s recommendations, and the State government going it in a big way vigorously through its rural BPO initiative, the three-days of the BangaloreIT.biz saw steady stream of students and prospective job seekers making a beeline at these stalls. Apart from marquee players of IT Capital such as Wipro, Infosys, Dell, IBM, Sify, taking space, notwithstanding, stepping into the available space were a host of edu-training and finishing firms.
They said, going by the footfalls they received, a career in IT, especially in BPO/call centre sector, was still most sought after career of choice among the youth brigade. Asked about their presence in a pure-play IT fair, they told Deccan Herald it provided them a perfect platform to interact up, close and personal with prospective candidates to not only explain the key differentiators each brought to the table, it also provided them with the much desired publicity for possible enrollments at a later date.

In fact, that the students, young entrepreneurs and job aspirants were majority crowd that milled around the annual flagship event this time around too, like in the past, indirectly endorsed the State government’s intentions of making the calendar jamboree attuned more to the needs and aspirations of the youth of the day.
Among stalls that witnessed hive of activity were Sri Guru Shishya Academy Private Limited offering slew of managerial, behavioural, stress, communcation, people and management oriented modules for students. Likewise, Indian School of Integrated Learning was another that promised to walk prospective career aspirants through skills, confidence and other job skill sets.

Another was Kukoon through products like performeter, P-En 10 & P-En 12 (performance enchancer) et al., and Edutel Technologies. In hindsight, BangaloreIT.biz may have been a low-key, modest affair, but, scored a Perfect 10 when it came to attracting the State’s student community by the hundreds as it had intended.
