The best of gastronomical delights from the four southern states whetted the appetite of the Who’s Who of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala filmdom at a lavish dinner hosted by the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce at a star hotel here on Monday.

A galaxy of stars, including Kamal Haasan, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Ambareesh, along with cine directors, producers, script writers and technicians took part in the gala party.

A variety of mouth-watering dishes, from ‘chappa pulusu’ fish delight of Andhra Pradesh to the traditional ‘kal dosai’ of Tamil Nadu were part of the spread.

Noted drummer Shivamani with his percussion skills created the right ambience. “Our guest list of more than 1,500 include artistes, directors, producers, dancers and technicians of the South Indian film industry,” a Federation member told Deccan Herald.
He said the menu for the dinner was carefully drawn after consulting the connoisseurs. “Nasi Goreng, the Indonesian spicy fried rice is the highlight of today’s menu,” a chef from the hotel said.

Artistes from the Malayalam film industry presented a variety of cultural programmes.
