Man killed by hit men he hired to kill sister

A man was allegedly killed in an Odisha town by four hit men he had hired to kill his sister, police said on Monday.

The crime took place at Angul on September 7, 160 km from Bhubaneswar.
Thirty-year-old Samar Das, who ran an auto-repairing shop, had hired four alleged paid killers Jayanta Dehury, Duryodhan Nayak, Narottam Nayak and Pratap Sahu to kill his sister, Namita, because she “brought shame to the family” after recently marrying her own elder brother Abhimanyu (41). Samar had agreed to pay an amount of Rs 3 lakh to the killers after the execution.

The hit men attempted to execute the crime a number of times but could not succeed, inspector-in-charge of Angul police station S N Muduli said.

They later changed their plan and asked Samar to come with the money to a nearby railway track saying they killed his sister as per the deal.

When Samar came with about Rs 1.5 lakh, the accused snatched the money and hacked him to death.
