Deceived by memories

Watch ‘Paycheck’ on Sony Pix at 8.16 am on September 26. Reverse engineer Michael Jennings performs contract technical jobs for people who hire him. He takes a very short span of time to complete his work and his memory during the job is erased.

The maximum time he has spent on a job is two months. Rethrick wants to hire Michael for a job that will last two to three years and promises to pay him a huge sum of money. Michael agrees and before turning in, packs all his belongings and hands it over to his employer. After three years, he completes the job and his memory is erased.

Michael finds out that he has earned more than 90 million dollars. But when he goes to claim the money, he is told that he had waived his rights to the total amount before his memory was erased. Is there a way that Michael can get his paycheck? The film stars Ben Affleck, Aaron Eckhart, Uma Thurman, Paul Giamatti and Colm Feore.

Life in a new world

Catch the animation flick ‘Ratatouille’ on Star Movies at 9 pm on September 26. Remy is a furry little mouse one would not want at home, let alone one’s kitchen. But he is stylish and would never scrounge for food nor thieves. He is creative and a connoisseur of food.

When a colony of rats move residence, Remy gets separated from his family, but luckily lands in Paris, the Foodies Mecca. Guided by the spirit of Chef Gusteau, he reaches the restaurant that used to belong to a great culinary expert. The film then goes on to show how Remy guides young Linguini and teaches Chef Gusteau to cook exotic dishes that make his customers return soon.

In another man’s shoes

Tune in to ‘The Change-Up’ on HBO at 10.55 am on September 26. Childhood friends Mitch and Dave were inseparable, but as the years passed, they slowly drifted apart. While Dave is an overworked lawyer and a father of three; Mitch has remained a single, quasi-employed playboy who has not seen any responsibility that he likes to shoulder.

To Mitch, Dave has it all— beautiful wife, kids who adore him and a high-paying job. To Dave, living Mitch’s stress-free life without obligations is a dream come true. In a drunken night out, Mitch and Dave’s worlds are turned upside down when they wake up in each other’s bodies. Despite the freedom, they soon discover that each other’s lives are nowhere near as rosy as they once seemed. The movie stars Jason Bateman, Ryan Reynolds, Olivia Wilde, Leslie Mann and Alan Arkin.

Villain on the prowl

Catch ‘Love Story 2050’ on UTV Movies at 9.30 am on September 26. Karan loves to break rules while Sana lives strictly by the rules. Dr Yatin Khanna, Karan’s uncle, invents a time machine. When Sana wishes to go to the future, Yatin, Karan, Sana and her siblings set off into 2050 Mumbai. All are thrilled to visit the future with 200-storey towers, robots and sky rails. Soon, Karan and Sana are separated. With a futuristic villain on the prowl, will Karan get the love of his life? The film stars Harman Baweja, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani, Archana Puran Singh and Kurush Deboo.

An efficient guard

Tune in to ‘Shanghai Noon’ on Zee Studio at 6.10 pm on September 26.

In the film, which is based in the 19th century, Chon Wang is a guard to the Chinese emperor.

Princess Pei Pei is kidnapped and Wang feels personally responsible. He goes along with the guards in search of the princess, who is held hostage in the USA. On the trail of the abductors, in Nevada, Wang is separated from the rest of the men.

He meets Roy, a small-time thief who is taken by the grandeur. They strike a
partnership which leads them into misadventure one after another.

The movie stars Jackie Chan, Owen Wilson, Lucy Liu, Brandon Merrill and Roger Yuan.
