MSc in International Environmental Management

The University of Northampton and the University of Madras would now be offering a joint MSc degree in International Environmental Management.

This programme will be delivered through a blended learning format consisting of online resources and intensive face-to-face tuition at the University of Madras.

The Masters course is flexible by design and would allow candidates to study at a pace which suits their circumstances and permits them to read for a UK degree whilst working and living in India.

Higgs boson course for online learners

Online learners around the world are being offered the chance to study the work of Edinburgh particle physicist Professor Peter Higgs as part of a free course.

The seven-week course, entitled The Discovery of the Higgs boson, describes the scientific advancements that have led to the building of the Large Hadron Collider, in Switzerland, and to the detection of the boson. It highlights the cross-fertilisation between theory and experiment in particle physics during the past 100 years.

The University of Edinburgh is offering the course as its first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) via the FutureLearn platform.

World Convention at IIMB

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is hosting the sixth edition of the Eduniversal World Convention on October 9-12, 2013. 

The four-day convention will bring together deans, business educators, academics and professionals in the field of Education.

Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships 2014

The deadline for applications for 2014 -15 grants is 31  Dec 2013.

The CWIT grant is reckoned to be sufficient for about 3 weeks. Names and addresses of two referees who know your work  well and who have agreed to be referees   
Fields  covered: History, literature, archaeology, history of art,  philosophy, performing and creative arts.

Eligibility: Applicants should be Indian citizens living in India; be  between 25 and 45; have good knowledge of English  

Applicants should have completed their studies and have 4  or more years of research or experience in their specialization, or be in the  final stages of their doctorate state clearly and exactly what they want to do  in the UK.

Seminar on opportunities in biotechnology

British Council in partnership with Bangalore University, Department of Microbiology & Biotechnology, is organising a one-day seminar on “Opportunities in Biotechnology” on 28 September 2013. 

The purpose of this seminar is to familiarise the students and faculty of biotechnology on current trends and the latest developments in some of the emerging fields of Biotechnology.  The seminar will be held at the Jnana Jyothi Auditorium, Central College Campus in Bangalore. 

The seminar would be useful for students and teachers of biotechnology at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
