She is my idol and I just think she has done it the right way,” Mendes said. The Hollywood bombshell, whose new traffic-stopping underwear ad on a billboard has angered the locals in New York feels that unlike male actors, women don’t get their due easily in the industry.
“She (Winslet) is not only an amazing actress but she knows how to run her career and I respect her so much. But there’s got to be room for more, for all women. I want more roles out there for women that have more colours and layers, like men have,” Mendes said. “They are hard to come by, so sometimes, I create them. I produced a film called Live!, in which I gave myself a great role in, playing a television network president. It's coming out on DVD next month," she added.

From Madhu to Madhuri

If Madhuri Dixit can do it, so can Madhu Sharma! The bubbly actress shot a dance number for her upcoming movie Wall Poster as a tribute to the Ek Do Teen Girl of Bollywood. Madhu’s character in the film happens to be a big fan of Madhuri and aspires to be a movie star. Wall Poster also stars Manmohan and is produced by K Venkat.
“I have always been a great fan of Madhuri,” gushes Madhu. Madhu performed on the popular song Ek Do Teen which was shot in Hyderabad. Sources say Madhu did full justice to the jhatkas and matkas of the Bollywood queen of the 90s.

No comparisons please!

Hrithik Roshan would rather blaze his own fashion trail than be compared with anyone. The suave actor was recently chosen as the new face of a clothing major, which was being endorsed by Saif Ali Khan till now. Does Hrithik feel bad to have been remembered so late by the company which has already had the likes of Fardeen Khan and John Abraham as its ambassadors?
Hrithik, as usual, turns out the right answers. “It is never too late,” he laughs, adding modestly, “I consider Saif as a benchmark. There can be no comparison with him. He has his own ways of styling and I can never compete with him.” But isn’t Hrithik one of the best looking actors anyway? “Can you repeat it? Louder! Let everyone hear it again,” Hrithik exclaims.

Going gaga over fashion

Lady Gaga, famed for her bizzare sense of style, rarely makes a public appearance without a pair of enormous sunglasses, a hat or mask obscuring her face. But the singer stunned her audience when she wore no accessories but just make-up on German chat show Wetten Dass recently, making a rare decision to show off her face instead of her fashion.
The 23-year-old star revealed a glowing skin and on-trend smoky eyes during her interview with host Thomas Gottschalk. Although, she made her entrance wearing huge sunglasses, she soon took them off to discuss the tattoo on her arm of a poem by German writer Rainer Maria Rilke. However the singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, did not abandon her quirky sartorial taste completely.
Dressed all in black, the    Paparazzi singer looked sleek and fashion-forward in over-the-knee boots and black sculptural trousers which winged out from her body at a dramatic 90-degree angle.

Whose film is it anyway?

There is tension brewing between  the formidable Aamir Khan and the director of his forthcoming film 3 Idiots — Rajkumar Hirani. The root cause is none other than Aamir’s unassuming but talented co-star Sharman Joshi.
Joshi who also played Aamir’s Delhi-campus buddy in Rakeysh Omprakash  Mehra’s Rang De Basanti, has walked away with the film, leaving poor Aamir less than happy. Aamir has asked Rajkumar Hirani to turn things around at the edit table.
Whether the director complies with the demand remains to be seen. In his defence, sources from the film's crew say the tilt and imbalance between Aamir and Sharman’s roles was not on the cards when the film was conceived.
