After Phailin breather, AP turns focus on Telangana

After a brief lull thanks to Dasara holidays and Cyclone Phailin, Samaikhyandhra is back on the agenda for political parties in Andhra Pradesh.

Seemandhra MPs hoping to jolt the party high command by getting the Lok Sabha speaker to accept their resignations, were themselves in shock by the instruction to be present in person, while APCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana visited his home in Vizianagaram on Monday where night time curfew was still in place.

Meanwhile, YSRC workers and Seemandhra agitators gheraoed Union HRD minister Pallam Raju in his home District of East Godavari as he returned from New Delhi  for Vijayadasami. They demanded that Raju should persuade the Speaker to accept his resignation. The situation was brought under control after Pallam Raju declared his solidarity for Samaikhyandhra.

The opposition TDP workers feel that the fast unto death of Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Delhi demanding equality had outshown YSRC chief Jaganmohan Reddy’s hunger strike at his Lotus Pond residence in Hyderabad.

After Delhi police foiled his fast, Naidu returned to the state only to be admitted at Asian Institute of Gastroenterology for jaundice. A team of doctors attending him said that Naidu’s sugar levels became normal and he is out of danger.
