Israel Government scholarships

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the award of 7, Israeli Government scholarship tenable from October 2014 to study at an Israeli University or any Institution of higher education in Israel.

These scholarships are for research/specialization for 8 months and would be available for studies in; Comparative study of religions, Middle East Studies, Hebrew language and literature, History of the Jewish people, Economics, Agriculture, Business Management, Mass Communication, Environmental Studies, Chemistry, Biology, and Biotechnology.
Last date for submission of application is November 29, 2013.

Prime minister’s scholarship

Applications are invited from the dependent wards / widows of ex-servicemen and ex-Indian coast guard personnel pursuing professional degree courses, duly recognised by the respective government regulatory bodies such as MCI, AICTE, UGC etc for the Primeminister’s scholarship program 2013-14.

The scheme will be applicable only to those candidates who have joined the professional courses in the academic year 2013-14.

An amount of Rs 2000 per month for boys and Rs 2250 per month for girls will be paid annually as scholarship.

IELTS workshop

Applications for law courses

The University of Southampton Law School has invited applications for its undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses for September 2014 entry.

The School, whose programmes are recognised by the Bar Council of India, is one of the leading law schools in the UK with a worldwide reputation for excellence in education and research.

It offers courses in areas like European Legal Studies, International Legal Studies, International Business Law, Maritime Law, Finance & Law as well as Information Technology & Commerce.

Candidates who wish to enroll for the course can apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) may  visit www.ucas.com for the same.

For undergraduate courses, entry requirements from the CBSE (12th) and ISC syllabus are set at 85% and 80% respectively.

Students applying for the postgraduate courses must either be holding an LLB degree from a good law school in India with a minimum of 50% or a recognised Law degree from other countries.

Agility management conference

A national conference on “Competence management towards agility and innovative growth” was organised by Global Institute of Management Sciences in Bangalore recently. Over 50 delegates participated from across the country.

The key note address was rendered by A N Chandramouli, who highlighted about the dynamic change in the environment and how the agility can help overcome the obstacles for growth coupled with innovation which can drive growth further.

The technical tracks on presentation of research papers were held simultaneouslu and were chaired by Dr Nagalingappa for IT & General topics, Dr G Dinakar for topics on Human Resources and Dr Keshava Rao chaired the Finance based topics.
NZ extends work rights to more students.

The New Zealand Government has announced that more international students will be allowed to work while they study in New Zealand.

International PhD and Masters by research students will have unlimited work rights. All tertiary-level international students enrolled in a course of at least one academic year will now be able to work full-time during each scheduled semester break.

All international students enrolled in an English language course of at least 14 weeks duration at a high-quality providerwill be eligible to work up to 20 hours a week.
