SC allows Sanjay to go abroad

A bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan, however, said Dutt would have to return to India by May 31, 2010.

Without getting any sign of an early hearing of his two-year-old appeal challenging his conviction under the Arms’ Act in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, Dutt on Friday moved the apex court seeking permission to leave the country for the shooting of his films “No Problem,” “Hangover,” “Double Dhamal” and four untitled ones.

In his application, Dutt said he needed to travel to Thailand, South Africa, London, Hong Kong, the US and various locations in Europe for shooting these films. The application filed by advocate Hari Shankar K said Dutt’s livelihood depend on the film industry.
