JOIN USUnidentified men broke into a house in Mangammana Palya near Madiwala here on Thursday night, waking up the occupants and snatching valuables from them before fleeing.
Sumayya, in a complaint to the Madiwala police, said the robbers barged into the house around 1 am when she and her husband were fast asleep. The robbers first banged at the door. The couple, who got scared at the sudden turn of events, then phoned Sumayya’s parents.
Meanwhile, the robbers broke the door open, wielding knives. They then caught hold of Sumayya and asked her to part with cash and other valuables. They threatened to kill her if she did not obey their commands. The frightened couple obliged them and parted with some gold ornaments and Rs 2,000 cash. The robbers then left, police said.
