MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology recently saw 240 students of post-graduate degree courses in MBA, MArch, MTech and MCA graduate from the college. At the fifth annual post-graduation convocation of the college, one could see the new set of graduates eagerly trying on their robes and posing for group photographs before the function.

The ceremony began with a procession led by the controller of examinations, members of the academic council, principal, vice-principal, registrar and chief guest among others.

After the welcome speech, all 16 rank holders of different departments were given mementos and certificates, following which the graduating students came batch by batch and received their certificates. Inspiring speeches were also given by the diginitaries. This was followed by the singing of the national anthem and a lunch for all the graduates, their family and faculty of the college.
“My formula for success was constant hard work – I studied regularly throughout the year instead of only during examinations,” said Amit Hanabaratti, a rank holder in structural engineering.

“Working on previous year question papers and having knowledgeable faculty who didn’t even need to consult their text book in class also helped,” he added.

Mrudula Prashanth, a rank holder from the manufacturing science and engineering department, said that she owes a lot to the college.

“The support that the department gave me every step of the way has really helped. My family has also been very supportive. I’ll miss the faculty and college environment most,” she said.

For Jyothi Sharma, a mother and wife, becoming the rank holder was a dream that required a lot of effort.  “It’s been very difficult to manage my academics, personal life and my job. But I’m grateful to this college for all it has given me. I’m looking forward to start doing research work,” shared Jyothi.
Sneha, an MCA graduate, was very happy that her parents were there to see her collect her certificate. “It feels very nice because this is the first time that I’m celebrating education in such a grand way. I won’t miss anything because I can’t wait to start working and begin the next chapter of my life,” she said.
